In 2013, Uhuru benefitted in fidelity of law which now wants reformed. I followed keenly Raila’s petition at Supreme Court challenging presidential results. Well, part of his [Raila] submission were expunged due to strict timeline-time barred submission as per law dictates. Which Raila termed ‘Democracy in Trial.’
Judiciary so far, up to appellant level, disallowed Building Bridges Initiative [BBI] due to legal technicality and in process denied electorates justice in equal resources distribution based on equal representation.
I assume but not sure this promoted Uhuru to pronounce those remarks during his New Year address:
“If the law becomes an end in itself, the survival of the nation-state is endangered. For us to, therefore, build on the strong foundation we have set, we must be driven by the big picture called justice, not by a tool called the law,” he laments.
“The law without justice is a national wound without cure.” he said.
