When at primary school, lower primary in that matter, the biblical Joseph story touched me to the core. For I couldn’t fathom how blood brothers could sell off their younger brother to foreigners just because he had their father’s most liking.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Amani National Congress [ANC] leader, Musalia Mudavadi, are political siblings of the late retired President Moi, who their fathers [Uhuru,Musalia], also played great to uplift Moi politically.
When time came for ,Moi, to reciprocate through their scions, he picked ,Uhuru, first among equals, a feat I gaze did not amuse ,Musalia, given how he stood with Moi in 1997 when Moi faced parliamentary coup to be had prosecuted during budget reading. Musalia, blazed chaotic parliament to read the budget to avert constitutional crisis since government could not spend public money without parliament approval a scheme the then parliament wanted exploit to bring Moi’s government down. That why, I presumed ,Musalia, gave a wide berth Uhuru’s press conference to concede defeat after losing to Kibaki in 2002.
Came 2008 when former retired President Mwai Kibaki appointed Uhuru as Local Government Minister in interim Cabinet. Uhuru nominated Councilors as per dictate under the then constitution only for Musalia to sack most of them after coming of “Nusu Mukate” government, where Musalia replaced Uhuru at Local Government Ministry.
It is apparent, that Musalia is most vocal against Uhuru’s scheme to unite Raila and One Kenya Alliance [OKA] despite Gideon Moi spirited shuttle diplomacy.
Well, this my observed opinions as enshrined under 2010 Kenya’s Constitution.
