KADU Angle In Msambweni By-Election And Facts Raila Overlooked

Following the Lancaster Conference new African political parties developed. Gichuru, Oginda Odinga and Mboya formed the Kenya African National Union [KANU], dominated by the Kikuyu and Luo, the largest ethnic groups of Kenya then. Minority peoples began to fear domination and, under the leadership of Ronald Ngala, Muliro and Moi, they formed the Kenya African Democratic Union [KADU] to press for a federation constitution to safeguard minority rights.

Its these perceived rights that Raila Odinga had being championing in the Coast to galvanized and endear himself to the coast people. But after handshake with president Uhuru Kenyatta from largest ethnic group, that priority seems have changed and coast people feels shortchanged by Raila.

That said, it is open secret that Hassan Joho and DP William Ruto have jostling to fill the shoes of Ronald Ngala and Daniel Moi respectfully which I don’t know whether is by design or fault that the most vocal and ardent allies from central Kenya were missing in Msambweni campaigns.
