In my health education class, I learnt that audience response after a health talk are categorized in five groups, in what is known as adoption curve/sketch: Innovators-2.5%; Early adopters-13%; Early majority-34%; Late majority-34%; Laggards-16% which add up to 100%.
Laggards take action to remedy an epidemic after everybody else.
Yes. I agree with President Magufuli’s call for prayers. But Jesus himself did a practical curative and preventive medicine going with following Bibilical verse:
John 9. 6-7: Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with saliva, and put it on man’s eyes. “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam.” So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
So, in my interpretation, faith without action is an exercise in futility where scientific proven remedies are provided.
