Eliud Kipchoge: An Alert For Kenya

In my own perceptions, staple food plays a fundamental physiology in sports talents and performance. A case in point was marathon performance at the Tokyo Olympics, in which the first; Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya, Abdi Nageeye of Netherland and Bashir Abdi of Belgian came from region where; milk, cheese, cereal grains and green vegetables are in plenty.

And, those are sources of mineral element calcium: which is essential in formation of bone. Necessary for muscle contraction, a structural requisite for long distance runners.

Now, if I examine the Kenya’s performance in comparison with previous, one can note that either urbanization or commercialization milk will affect our athletes dominance in near future. Since calcium is required in large amounts during infancy and early childhood when the skeleton is developing. Also required in considerable amounts during pregnancy and breastfeeding, feat well met in rural ares especially in developing countries.

So, Eliud Kipchoge at 37, then, I can sense Kenya’s dominance dwindling like in central Kenya we did not a representative from that region this time around after massive commercialization of milk coupled with urbanization.
