UTs Phased Out, Day-Schools Overdue

One of my elder siblings was over elated after securing government untrained teacher [UT] job straight from secondary school. Read the infamous Baringo teachers. Currently Kenya is having surplus of trained teachers. What am I pointing at, that boarding schools were to cater for more students in prevailing limited resources. The De La Warr Commission of 1937, sent by Colonial Office from Britain recommended that there should be a school of higher learning in East Africa and Makerere University in Uganda was established. This meant that many secondary schools needed to be built to supply a large enough number of students to Makerere. And with limited qualified teachers, boarding schools were of necessity then but not now. From this perspective, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu is in order by proposing a need for boarding schools to start day wings to enhance access and cut down on cost of education.
