I equate Raila’s fifth stab to presidency with the late former President Daniel Arap Moi, who one of his moniker was ‘Professor of Politics’.
One, the late Moi, after seeing how the first Vice President Jaramogi Odinga lost tract after trying to implement defiant policies from those of boss became very loyal when he was appointed the third Vice President. Raila also to have learnt from his own experience of been defiant to Kibaki hence losing Mt Kenya trust. Thus after another opportunity presented itself through handshake, he become very loyal to President Uhuru Kenyatta to a fault, which have paid dividends in Mt Kenya.
Secondly, the late Moi had the late JJ Kamotho and Lee Njiru outside his ethnic as his trusted public relation lieutenants. Raila has Junet Mohamed, also outside his ethnic.
Thirdly, late Moi used systematic approach infused in what he used to call ‘my secret weapon’. Raila albeit-open secret for political pundits-had been video taking speeches in all ‘Azimio La Umoja’ having a secret to broadcast them in much publicized convention after creating suspense.
Fourth, but not last, late Moi knew how to play psychology politics, what more, Raila summed up convention by metamorphosing ‘Azimio La Umoja’ into a movement with atonation of a coalition.
