Inter-cropping Can Trigger Apical Dominance

Apical dominance is the growth and elongation of the main stem while that of the lateral shoots is inhibited. Thus the plant grows in height and is able to compete for light especially if it is surrounded by other plants. True to it, my neighborhood farmer triggered it as you can see in above photo I took with her permission where butter bean has elongated by twining its stem on maize crop.
