How I Out-yields Neighbor

I sown my maize early than my neighbor. Maize should therefore, be sown at the beginning of the rains. Where the rainy tend be short, dry planting a few days days before the onset of the rains may be an advantage like I did. I also sown my maize manually by dibbling in recommended two seeds/hole at a depth of 2.5-5.0 cm in moist soils while in dry soils [in the case of dry planting] maize may be sown as deep as 10.0 cm with phosphatic fertilizer preferably NPK the one I applied. Lastly, the photo above left is my maize plot appearing more green foliage and thick taller than my neighbor’s one and half months into planting.
