The oestrus cycles of a doe is 14 days . And gestation period is 31 days. Towards the end of the gestation period, the doe makes her own nest in the darker corner of the hutch. She uses the fur pulled from her breast for beddings.
Depending on the type of breed, a litter may on average consist of 6 to 10 young rabbits. These produce fur and their eyes open in about 10 days from birth. During this nursing time, I inspect the litter often and remove the dead rabbits immediately for diagnosis. Also I provide concentrates, dairy cubes, bread and milk for the doe which look thinner and weaker until the young rabbits are weaned.
