Good-Friday: Why Tribal Elders Wanted Christ Dead

Matthew 26 : 3-5;Then the chief priest and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, and they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him. “But not during the Feast,” they said, “or there may be riot among the people.” end of quote.

Reasons why cultural attitudes are resistant to change; Cultural attitudes were satisfying elders’ needs as were held in high esteem as apex of governance. Noting some rudimentary cultural practices were advocated against by Jesus proving popular to masses. That why they feared people rioting.

I postulate Christ envisaged to unify humanity into one harmonious universal culture of love and co-existence hence faced resistance from tribal chauvinist.
