Global Warming ! Sabastian Sawe’s Observations Effects to it

“If you look at the trend now, many athletes have been winning marathon races in 2 hours and two minutes. That means the race is changing. I must pay tribute to the world record holder Kelvin who showed us that there is another side to marathon running, and we don’t have to fear,” Sawe was quoted by Nation Sport newspaper.

Global warming effect air temperature. And air resistance increases as temperature decreases because colder air is denser, providing more molecules to collide with a moving object. For every 10 centigrade drop in temperature, air resistance increases by approximately 4%, making movement harder, conversely hot air is less dense, reducing air resistance which is advantageous to athletes’ energy conservation.

However, unusually warm and humid air condition increases resistance as happened in Sabastian Sawe’s marathoni atempt in Berlin. Distance runner Sabastian Sawe had pitched for a world record pace at the Berlin Marathon, his second marathon, but fell short, running two hours, 02 minutes and 16 seconds.
