Anthracnose [Colletotrichum Lindemuthianum] is a fungal disease for beans and coffee and is characterized by the appearance of sunken, brown spots with black edges on pods and berries and angular brown spots on leaves and stems. The fungus is spread by rain splash. It occurs in damp cool weather which El Nino rains made this conditions conducive in my bean crops.
Another challenge brought about by El nino rains to beans production is weeding. For bean weeding is done when the field is dry to avoid spreading diseases.
