The fall of man was at the center of two trees; the tree of knowledge and the tree of life. God had commanded the first man, Adam, not to eat from tree of knowledge but serpent deceived him through Eve and ate from it. After God found out that Adam and Eve have defied Him. They banished from tree of everlasting life. In my intuition, Christmas tree signify man redemption. Symbolic tree of life through Christ.
