My empirical observations, Mt Kenya elders were toying with idea of rotating Commander in Chief [Presidency], among Kiambu, Muranga and Nyeri region when they first invited Peter Kenneth on September 25, 2020, in Nyeri for prayers and cultural matters.
Kiambu has produced two presidents Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and current President Uhuru Kenyatta, while Neri had produced one, Mwai Kibaki, hence time for Muranga, that, maybe, have culminated Peter Kenneth invite.
However, Peter Kenneth, might not have met elders expectations of ‘fighting’ for the community since in my view,Peter Kenneth is formal polished persona, going by his pronouncement after a four-hour meeting:
“I was invited for the cultural event by a section of the community that deals with prayers and cultural matters. It was not about 2022, which is very far. And, as the President has rightfully stated, we should stop politicking at the expense of the country and think about the welfare of Kenyans and development,” here note keyword “Kenyans” instead of tribe.
Well, I think is from this perspective, that he [Kenneth] was endorsed as ‘Agikuyu cultural ambassador’ instead of spokesman or Kingpin. And, as Peter Kenneth’s predictions: “I don’t know who they will invite next.”
Speaker of National Assembly Justin process of invitation emerged in early 2021, that culminated on his endorsement as Mt Kenya spokesman in June. Maybe after meeting elders expectations of fighting for community as norm of tribal elders.
Now, will Peter Kenneth clinch the crown of Mt Kenya Kingpin in hit 2?
