The Vatican estimated more than 250,000 people attended Pope Francis’s burial ceremony, cramming the square and the roads around. And crowds estimated by police as numbering some 150,000 lined the 5.5 km route to St Mary Major.
This proved and fulfilled Jesus’ envision when He called St Peter, the first Pope to his ministry. John 5 : 4-6 ; and John 5 : 10 ; When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon Peter. “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
