Pursuant to Public Health Act Cap 242 [Subsidiary : PUBLIC HEALTH [PUBLIC MORTUARIES] RULES, 1991 [2]; Laws of Kenya. If one dies and close relatives fails to claim the body for burial, then the Kenya Government through public health department inter it by seeking court order.
In view of above Jesus body was not claimed by close relative rather was claimed by periphery disciple, Joseph of Arimathea who buried it after seeking Pilate’s permission and granted.
This happened in my own view to fulfil Jesus’ own words as recorded in Luke 8 : 21 ; He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice,” end of quote. For Jesus came for the common good on humanity as whole.
