There should be sufficient feeders for the chicken. To check whether the feeders are sufficient for the chickens, one should observe whether all the chicken are feeding without overcrowding. If they overcrowd then more feeders should be made available according to the following spacing :
-25 mm per bird in the first two weeks
-58 mm from the 3-6 weeks
-75 mm for birds over 6 weeks old.
The feeders for chickens above 3 weeks should have swivel bar to rolls when chicks climb on it to prevent defecation on feedstuff.
