Covid-19: Museveni Prudent But Misstep Measures

Even before Uganda recorded its first Covid-19 case, President Museveni implemented tough preventive measures, which included closing the airspace to passenger planes and all border entry points, banning public transport and non-essential work, closing schools and public gatherings and executing rapid response to alerts within the communities.

By intuiting those drastic preventive measures, Uganda was globally lauded for its handling of the pandemic, which saw fewer cases and minimal fatalities.

As trained public health officer, I m of opinion that a disease have to undergo its natural history in order for community to acquire natural active immunity-produced in response to natural infection by a pathogen.

To customize based in my study of immunity; natural active immunity on many members of a certain affected community, will result to herd immunity produced when many people have a disease [active natural immunization] or by giving immunization to a large part the population [active artificial immunization]

This I have extracted from my Kenya Medical Training College [KMTC] in response of media reports on Uganda where in my own opinion, Museveni did a prudent quick response to minimize mortality and fatalities and he have galvanize resources for mass immunization to achieve herd immunity.
