A Vice that Can Spark Class ‘D’ Fire

I hope against hope that my former high school current students are not manipulating wired electricity devices in dormitory to make tea or ironing the way we late 80s and early 90s old boys used to do. Stop it please if at all is continuing.

Class ‘A’ : Is fire of solid materials; grass, paper, fabric and timber.

Class ‘B’ : Is fire, which involves flammable liquid; Petrol, spirit solvent, paint, alcohol and kerosene. This risk type of fire can not be extinguished by use of water. Why? Because water is heavier than fuel which is burning. Water will go down and fire will continue burning.

Class ‘C’ : Is fire which involves gas container and normal original or natural gas. It induces dangerous explosion and very destructive. Why very destructive? Because the container cannot hold the pressure so it explodes at the weakest point of cylinder.

Class ‘D’ : Is fire involving metal. One cannot use water, why ? Because fume generated are deadly.

In view of this. Let students and pupils be periodically enlightens on dangers and preventive measures on fires.
