How My Tomatoes Venture Failed

I did not appraise myself on good husbandry practices which are as follows : The optimum spacing of 1 meter between the rows and 1/2 meter between plants along the row; At transplanting, I did not apply 1 teaspoonful of double phosphate mixed well with the soil per planting hole followed by two applications of topdressing with CAN; And of operational essential, I did not provide support to the tomatoes stems by staking, pruning and training with allowing only one or two primary stems to grow up and pruning all the other laterals each week as the selected stems continue to grow.

After the form of about 7 to 8 trusses, I missed to prune off the growing tip of the stem to encourage the growth of good quality fruits. I also learnt it is advisable to remove the lower leaves close to the ground to reduce the fungal infection of a blight disease from soil. The training is intended to guide the upper soft of the stem to go twining the string.
